Super-fit JAMAI RAJA’s speed bursts since returning to open allowance company could pay off for the eight-year-old gelding in Saturday’s St Catherine Cup at six furlongs.
Though having not won in two starts since upsetting overnight allowance runners at 24-1 in November, JAMAI RAJA has twice been the closest horse at the home turn to lightning-fast MAHOGANY in back-to-back races.

Runner-up on his last outing, former sprint champion, CHACE THE GREAT, hopes to go one better on Saturday after chasing home TREVOR’S CHOICE in the Chris Armond Sprint Trophy at five and a half furlongs on December 27.
The event is the ninth of 10 races scheduled at Caymanas Park. First post is 11:40 am.
CHACE THE GREAT has been stretched out by trainer Vincent Atkinson, taking on 13 rivals in a non-restricted overnight-allowance at six and a half furlongs, carrying topweight 126lb with Omar Walker.

Lightning-fast ENGLAND S ROSE made all at five furlongs round on Saturday to beat EROY by a length and a quarter, handing former champion trainer Wayne DaCosta a hat-trick to close the nine-race card.
ENGLAND S ROSE was partnered by joint-champion jockey, Anthony Thomas, riding for the first time since affected by a stomach ailment for the last two meets of 2020.
ENGLAND S ROSE stopped the clock in 59.2 to hand Thomas a second winner, having landed the second event with 2-1 chance PURPLE WAYNE.

Anthony Nunes holds key to Fan Appreciation Day Trophy

Returning champion trainer, Anthony Nunes, has called up Omar Walker aboard BIBANG, one of two stayers he has in Friday’s Fan Appreciation Day Trophy. Champion apprentice Oshane Nugent is astride stablemate TRICKY ONE, giving Nunes a stranglehold on the closing stages of the nine-furlong and 25-yard event.
Both Nunes runners were beaten by SUPERLUMINAL at a mile on December 5. SUPERLUMINAL returned last Wednesday to win at a mile again, clocking 1:37.3 among million-dollar claimers, with topweight 126lb, taking out UNCLE VINNIE, and WILSON, second and fourth, respectively, both of whom are back, up in class, to face Nunes’ BIGBANG and TRICKY ONE ....
