Recently, the ORR witnessed one of the biggest congestions, and nearly 3.5 lakh private vehicles were found to be stagnated there. Experts and traffic officials have suggested the widespread usage of the metro as a significant solution.
Responding to this decision, Vajapeyam Srivatsa tweeted, “Banning HTV during peak hour is a decade-old rule; only effective implementation is the key. With metro work, it is difficult for Bengaluru traffic police to distinguish. If they make some similar identification or issue passes only for metro project vehicles, this will help”.
They stressed on widening service roads especially those next to construction sites. In addition, efforts must be made to identify and develop alternative routes to bypass construction zones.
