Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on Tuesday afternoon, also reviewed the preparedness of Ministry of Defence & Armed Forces amid spike in COVID-19 cases across the country via a virtual meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. New Delhi [India], April 20 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday held a virtual meeting to review the preparedness of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces to deal with the recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the country.
Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of Army Staff General M M Naravane, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) Surg Vice Admiral Rajat Datta, Secretary (Defence Production) Raj Kumar, Chairman Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Dr G Satheesh Reddy and other senior civil and military officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.

New Delhi, April 20 : Amid the Covid-19 surge and shortage of oxygen cylinders across the country, the Indian defence industry has given On-Board Oxygen Generation Technology developed for Light Combat Aircraft Tejas to private industry, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Uttar Pradesh government has placed an order for five such oxygen generation plants, Singh said during a meeting to review preparedness with Defence Ministry officials, Armed Forces and defence organisations on Tuesday amid the spike in Covid-19 cases.
