Vehicle Pursuit Begins In Castaic, Driver Remains At Large
A vehicle pursuit that began in Castaic Wednesday evening continued south out of Santa Clarita, with the driver still at large.
Just after 5:15 p.m., units from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office were in pursuit of a vehicle on the southbound 5 freeway.
“The original want was for speeding,” said Officer Kravig with the CHP Traffic Management Office. “The pursuit began on the southbound 5 near Lake Hughes.”
The pursued vehicle was said to be reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour, according to CHP officials.
The driver drove south, out of the Santa Clarita Valley, and took the 210 freeway eastbound until it was out of view of law enforcement at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
