Via Variety.com. The sweetest, most squeaky voiced cop in movie history has passed away. Marion Ramsey, who played Officer Laverne Hooks in the Police Academy movies, died at the age of 73 today in her Los Angeles home.
Marion started her show business career on stage in Hello Dolly, then the 1978 Broadway hit, Eubie. Television and movie roles followed, but she was best known for her portrayal of the mild mannered, high pitched, Officer Hooks in 1984 s Police Academy. The film was such a success there were 5 sequels, and she was in each one.
