BJD MLA candidate from Pipili, Rudra Maharathy’s wife Jagruti Panda (32) filed her nomination as an Independent candidate against her husband from the same seat. Rudra is not worried about her move. Odisha is going to see a few couples fighting elections from different seats in the ensuing elections. Rudra, son of late MLA from Pipili, Pradeep Maharathy, won from the seat in a byelection in April 2021. The politically-sensitive Pipili assembly constituency under Puri Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on May 25. Jagruti’s affidavit states her assets at Rs 43.76 lakh and around Rs 2 lakh. Jagruti, who studied law and MBA, works in a private educational institution in Bhubaneswar.
Students of Odisha achieved a pass rate of 99.08% in Class X and 98.90% in Class XII exams conducted by the Council of Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (CICSE). Girls outperformed boys in both classes, with a pass percentage of 99.34 for girls in Class X. The results were announced for 93 schools across Odisha, with all six city schools affiliated to CICSE board achieving 100% results.
