And yet sand mining is on the increase much of it for beach nourishment. But is beach nourishment doing what we want it do? And is the public money used for beach protection actually preserving a public resource for the public good?
Group s Anniversary Cause for Celebrations with Tidepools, Oregon Coast Talks

(Oregon Coast) – July 29 will mark a special day on the Oregon coast, an anniversary of a true breakthrough for the region. It will be 50 years ago that a small group of conservation pioneers formed the Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition (OSCC) on that day in 1971, starting the ball rolling on a series of successful saves that have helped keep the coastline as attractive as it is today.
