OAKLAND COUNTY, MI The pilot and two passengers who died when their private plane crashed into a New Hudson home Saturday afternoon have been identified.
The pilot of the plane was David S. Compo, former president of the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan. Compo, along with his wife Michele Compo and their son Dawson, died in the crash, a news release from the association states. ....

Homebuilder David Compo and his family were identified late Saturday as those killed when their small private plane crashed into a Lyon Township home.
Compo, a 60-year-old who was described as an experienced pilot and cofounder of Novi-based Compo Builders Inc., his 55-year-old wife, Michele, and 18-year-old son, Dawson, were returning from a Dec. 29 trip to Canton, Ga., when their single-engine Piper PA-24 Comanche airplane crashed about a half-mile from Oakland/Southwest Airport in New Hudson, the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan said in a news release. ....

A prominent home builder and his family died Saturday afternoon when their small plane crashed into a home in Lyon Township just a half mile short of its destination, setting the house on fire.

David Compo, 60, his wife, Michele, 55, and their son 18-year-old Dawson were headed to Oakland/Southwest Airport when their plane crashed, according to the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan. 
Neighbors said they helped the residents escape from a home in the 57000 block of Dakota, which suffered extensive damage from the crash. The plane was protruding from the home and covered with a tarp Saturday evening.  ....

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A family of three killed when their private plane crashed into a Lyon Township home on Saturday has been identified.
David S. Compo, former president of the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan, his wife Michele and their son Dawson all died in the crash when the plane they were flying crashed into a home Saturday afternoon.
“There was a huge cloud of smoke, like really tall flames, said neighbor Chase Southwick. We thought the whole house was going to be gone.” ....
