House of Ma Brings Elevated Vietnamese Comfort Cuisine to the River Walk Published: May 14, 2021 It’s impossible to miss the bright welcoming entryway to House of Ma, the new restaurant located along the River Walk in the heart of downtown. House of Ma is presented by Louis Singh and Eric Treviño, the culinary duo behind Singh’s Vietnamese. The inspiration behind Singh’s Vietnamese, “a mother’s Southern Vietnamese recipes, as told by her Texan son,” continues at House of Ma, which was named in “loving homage to Vietnamese mothers and grandmothers.” The design of House of Ma and it’s downstairs neighbor, Hugman’s Oasis, comes from restaurateur Chris Hill, owner of the nearby Esquire Tavern. Hill worked in conjunction with Giles Design Bureau for both the restaurant and tiki bar, creating a cohesive feel from one venue to the next. ....

The world of Asian noodles is vast. There is some dispute over who originally came up with the idea of mixing water and flour to create noodles.
