RETAILERS in Warminster went above and beyond the call of duty to put a little sparkle and magic into the town’s festive season displays for shoppers in the run up to Christmas and the New Year. More than 30 shops entered this year’s best dressed window display competition organised by Warminster Town Council, which was slightly toned down from the original idea due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. A council spokesman said: “We are not encouraging people to be out unnecessarily, but it still promotes the town and makes everyone feel festive and cheerful – something we all need - and the town’s shops put on a fantastic festive display.”
It may have been a tricky year for most, but one business is undeniably booming – and it’s all thanks to the team’s dedication, kindness, and keen nose for perfect scents. Setting up The Victorian Candle Co in March 2019, brothers Aidan and Ruaridh Blackett have been going from strength-to-strength with their popular products. And after hitting the pages of Vanity Fair earlier this month, it’s safe to say the duo is feeling positive about the future. “We started off just with a set-up in the kitchen, and we got to the point where there were just candles and jugs and all sorts covering every surface,” 22-year-old Aidan said.
