Picture used for representational purpose only HAVERI: The pandemic is running through districts in North Karnataka like a scourge and the case fatality rate in many districts are rocketing with Haveri topping the list with 63 deaths in the week beginning May 13 (to 19) alone. At a staggering 4.3%, Haveri district also had the dubious distinction of topping the case fatality rate in the state in the period, zooming past four other districts in the region which were also on top of the fatality rate graph. Haveri’s CFR during this period was almost three times higher than the state average of 1.2%. Bidar (2.9%) and Kalaburagi (2.2%) were the next highest. Davanagere, with a CRF of only 0.3% brought up the rear, data from the state health department shows. ....
