'All That Jazz' Lightshow Spectacular

Redesigned for 2023 with a new 1920s jazz soundtrack, the grove of towering Norfolk Island Pines on the Founders Lawn is the scene of a dynamic light show orchestrated to music, a brilliant ethereal experience that captivates guests with a finale of snow flurries. Showcased is the Norfolk Pine originally made famous in 1904 as the world’s first electrically lit outdoor Christmas tree. This year's show also has more lights, more snow, and a brand-new bar and lounge for taking in the dazzling experience. A 12-foot-tall replica of the hotel’s signature red turret complete with holiday lights serves as the focal point of the new bar, which will be surrounded by Victorian-inspired lounge seating with bottle service for the perfect spot to watch the show. The complimentary 10-minute show takes place every 30 minutes from 5 - 9 p.m. nightly. Open to the public (no reservations needed). For more information visit: hoteldel.comStay Connected on Facebook

A family in India's crash course into the traditional American Christmas morning

Children truly make Christmas feel complete, or so I’d heard over the years since moving to the United States. My entire family — which includes my parents, sister, uncles, aunties, and two young cousins — lives in India, a place where most follow Hinduism, but that hasn’t stopped Indians from incorporating some Christian traditions. This year, I decided to visit them in December with one goal in mind: Force everyone to celebrate Christmas morning the American way.
