Turn away those without masks, shopowners told | Noida News

Noida: Along with barricading the Noida-Delhi borders to debar the movement of commuters between the two cities after 10pm, police have gone stricter with the imposition of the 10pm-5am curfew in the district and increased penalisation of those not sporting masks. Cops have also directed shopkeepers not to sell items to those coming to their outlets without wearing masks. Police have made it clear that travel between Noida and Delhi won’t be allowed except for those engaged in essential services like doctors and other healthcare staff between 10pm and 5am. Led by senior officers, including the additional commissioner, the Noida police have started a public address system in the markets and other public places asking people to wear masks, use sanitizers and maintain social distancing.

24-yr-old on cycle crushed by SUV | Noida News

Noida: A 24-year-old man was crushed under the wheels of an SUV on Monday night when he was returning home from a café where he worked. The accident took place around 12.40am in Sector 39 area. The family of Harendra Anuragi, who died on the spot, has alleged that they saw beer cans near the car and a crate of beer bottles inside, which suggested that the driver had been drunk. They also claimed that though police had initially agreed that the accused was drunk, they later told them he wasn’t, citing medical reports. The relatives were also not allowed to see the accused, they alleged.

UP: Youth found murdered; stone with bloodstains recovered | Noida News

NOIDA: A youth, possibly aged about 27 years, has been found murdered after possibly being attacked with a stone. The youth s body was found lying at a service road between the road between the petrol pump opposite Sector 52 and the MMR Mall area on Sunday drawing locals to the spot. A crowd had gathered at the spot when the body was spotted by locals early Sunday. The youth had an injury on his head and a stone with bloodstains was found near the body with reports that the youth was possibly stoned to death. Police said that while the body remains unidentified, two tattoes have been found on his body including one on the right hand which says “Bhoora,” possibly his name.

Noida: 70-year-old jumps off 7th floor flat, dies | Noida News

Representative image NOIDA: A 70-year-old retired engineer died after he jumped off the seventh floor of an upscale society in Noida’s Sector 75 on Saturday, according to police. He was from Chandigarh and had been staying in Noida with his wife for the past one year. He was under depression, said a police officer, adding that he did not want to stay in Noida. A police officer said the former engineer jumped off the building around 1pm on Saturday. “When questioned, his wife said they were working in Ranchi and for around one year back, they have been staying in Noida. He didn’t want to stay in Noida and used to share it with his family members. Possibly, this was why he took the extreme step,” additional DCP (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said.
