Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s most awaited annual extravaganza, the 45-day All India Industrial Exhibition, popularly called Numaish, is likely to open for people to visit from the second week of March 2021.
Speaking to siasat.com, exhibition Society secretary, Dr. B Prabha Shankar said, “The exhibition could not be organized on regular dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the situation is getting back to normal in Hyderabad, we are trying to open from March 15 and 50 percent of the stalls have been filled. This week we will get the confirmation from the government.” ....

India: Double decker buses set to return to Hyderabad after more than two decades

Hyderabad: Double decker buses, once a tourist attraction, are set to stage a comeback on the roads of Hyderabad.
Originally introduced by the Nizam’s Transport Services during the reign of the last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan in the 1940s, double decker buses were taken off the road in the 1990s by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
But now the prospects of their return have brightened with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) calling for tenders for providing 15 double decker buses for its Hyderabad operations.
Showing keen interest in the project, the TSRTC has also convened a pre-bidding meeting with interested parties for discussion on all the aspects of the project. ....

Hyderabad: The historically significant Madrasa-I-Aliya, which is almost 150 years old, bears silent testimony to the state government’s apathy towards the city’s heritage. The beautiful structure was supposedly one of Hyderabad’s best schools is now left to its fate.
Madrasa-I-Aliya was founded by Mir Turab Ali Khan (Salar Jung 1, who was the prime minister between the fourth and sixth Nizams of Hyderabad) in 1872. The school for royals boasts of alumni like the seventh Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan and his grandson Mukkaram Jah. ....
