84 year old Pauline Gauvin, a long term care resident in Miramichi was the first New Brunswiker to receive the Covid-19 vaccine over the weekend. .
Nicolette Noel of Miramichi was the first nurse to receive the COVID-19 vaccine – while Dr. Carl Boucher of Caraquet was the first New Brunswick physician to receive the injection.
The first vaccinations were administered Saturday at the Miramihci Regional Hopsital.
Meanwhile, the province reported five new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday and none on Sunday. Public health did revise its total number of cases over the weekend, saying two Saint John area cases were accounted for in other provinces; while two other previously confirmed cases had now been identified as false-positive tests. As of Sunday afternoon there were 45 active cases of the virus remaining in New Brunswick. ....

'This is something I won't forget': First New Brunswicker gets COVID-19 vaccine

A physician, a paramedic, a nurse, and a nursing home resident are among the first in New Brunswick to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
A clinic opened Saturday after the province received its first 1,950 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine earlier in the week.
The very fist in line: 84-year-old Pauline Gauvin of Miramichi. She’s a resident at Shannex’s Losier Hall.
This is something I won’t forget, she said, after receiving the shot at the Miramichi Regional Hospital Saturday morning.

Pauline Gauvin was the first New Brunswicker to receive the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine at the Miramichi immunization clinic on Dec. 19.
New Brunswick has begun vaccinating health-care workers and long-term care residents against the coronavirus in Miramichi.
We re really quite excited, people are pumped up, they re believing it s a historic day for the Miramichi, said CEO of Horizon Health Karen McGrath.
