Underwater Vehicle Joins Chief William Saulis Search

The RCMP have received new resources in their search for the five missing fishermen from the Chief Williams Saulis fishing vessel.
They recently received a Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) equipped with a Tritech Gemini multi-beam sonar from RCMP in British Columbia.
The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team will be operating the vehicle which uses newer tech than what’s been previously used.
The scallop dragger and most of its crew have been missing since the vessel went down early on the morning of December 15th.
The majority of the search so far has been done via helicopter. ....

84 year old Pauline Gauvin, a long term care resident in Miramichi was the first New Brunswiker to receive the Covid-19 vaccine over the weekend.  .
Nicolette Noel of Miramichi was the first  nurse to receive the COVID-19 vaccine  – while  Dr. Carl Boucher of Caraquet was the first New Brunswick physician to receive the injection.
The first vaccinations were  administered Saturday at the Miramihci Regional Hopsital.
Meanwhile, the province reported five  new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday and none on Sunday. Public health did revise its total number of cases over the weekend, saying two Saint John area cases were accounted for in other provinces; while two other previously confirmed cases had now been identified as false-positive tests.  As of Sunday afternoon there were 45 active cases of the virus remaining in New Brunswick. ....

The Maritime Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre said late Wednesday afternoon that it is suspending the search for five missing fishermen in the Bay of Fundy.
The news comes after 36 hours of searching for the crew of the Chief William Saulis, a scallop vessel based out of Yarmouth, N.S. The RCMP will now handle the investigation as a missing persons case. ....
