About 20 minutes ago before sunrise happens and, boy, are the clouds putting on a show a beautiful sunrise behind you. Once above the layer of clouds this is real pretty day. A lot of low clouds keeping the view of the sunrise out of the view of many of us because waking up to clouds. Lets leave behind that scene. Thats the view were fortunate to have above it all on top of the Sales Force Tower. Theres the one from the roof. Bottom line is the marine layer is back and as a result today will be anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees cooler in the afternoon for daytime highs. Current temperatures are pretty much in line with where you were them being yesterday. Heres the take away on today. Not only the marine layer has come back, thats the first headline and noticeably cooler but staying above average for daytime lies, even with the 10 degree cool down today, its still a warm day. Tomorrow. A lot of businesses here in the east bay are still closed but tomorrow morning the new rules say some of them can reopen. For some of them, its just in the nick of time. They just picked up their first load of Fresh Flowers in weeks. Theyre excited that the stayathome orders will allow their floral arts store in lafayette to be open for business in time for mothers day. For us, mothers day is actually the busiest week of the year. Its busier than valentines because everybody has a mom. Reporter its good timing for other activities as well. Skate parks can reopen and tennis can once again be played. Although the order forbids multiple people touching the ball so it will be interesting to see how that works. And with the good weather, even rusty golfers will be thrilled to get back on the greens and play the maddening game they love so much. 3,600 confirmed cases of covid 19 in the bay area. A third of those are in hard hit Santa Clara County. The bay area is expected to reach its peak later this month, but will we building be ready . They are predicting we would not have shortages in regular or icu beds even at the peak. Reporter professor tara dion says early shelter in place orders may save californias Healthcare System from running out of beds, but cautions the system will still be under enormous strain. There is an issue of where those beds are and are they in the right place . So as a whole across the state, i think we probably have enough icu beds. The question is are they in the places where well have the patients coming in . Reporter San Francisco needs more testing so three sites will open next week, however the city says an ongoing shortage of testing resources means priorities must be given to First Responders and healthcare workers. We know that so many of them are very concerned, that they are doing this work in the community, they are trying their best to help save lives and serve the public. They are living in fear as to whether or not they have the virus. We have issued instruction to all labs and clinicians, that they must prioritize their tests. Next week we will bring the deployment of largescale sheltering in the first part means moving people out of traditional shelters. Starting next week, muskogee west will open up and supplies are being delivered this weekend, people are being coordinated, we are going to use muscone west as the place for shelters.
