Democrats Look to Fill Empty Police Commission Seat
The Ridgefield Democratic Town Commission is seeking candidates to fill a vacant seat on the Police Commission. Police Commissioner Nick Perna has resigned from his position for personal reasons.
Per the Town’s charter, the Commission has 30 days to fill the vacancy, and must fill the vacancy with an individual with the same party affiliation as the resigning member.
The DTC intends to endorse a candidate for the Commission’s consideration in filling Mr. Perna’s seat.
Interested applicants should send a statement of interest and detailed resume or biography demonstrating their qualifications for the slot to Commission George Kain, Ridgefield Police Department, 76 Eat Ridge Road, Ridgefield, CT by April April 23 ....

I wanted to thank the wonderful community of Ridgefield. My family has recently been having some tough times and so many generous people have come forward to help us, especially during the holidays.
I especially want to thank Nick Perna, on behalf of the Sister Joan Fund, the anonymous donor who bought my family a Christmas tree and wreath from Tubby Tim’s Tree Farm (thank you Tim and Mary Dent), the other anonymous donor who offered us a tree too, Fernando Luis and Mark Giglio of the Ridgefield Police Benevolent Association, for giving my youngest son the exciting opportunity to get picked up in a police car and go to the Toy Chest to Shop with a Cop. ....

A Stanford pediatrician was arrested last week for allegedly sending pornographic images and attempting lewd acts with an underage girl, Redwood City police announced Tuesday.
Dr. Dylan O’Connor, a 33-year-old pediatrician at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, was arrested Feb. 5 on one count of sending harmful material to a juvenile and one count of traveling to meet a minor for lewd purposes, police said. ....

A 33-year-old pediatrician was arrested Friday on suspicion of attempted lewd acts with a minor, Redwood City police said Tuesday.
Dr. Dylan O Connor, a pediatrician at Lucile Packard Children s Hospital in Palo Alto, was taken into custody in the 1800 block of El Camino Real in Redwood City and booked for sending harmful material to a juvenile, and traveling to meet a minor for lewd purposes, both felonies, police said.
Redwood City police began an investigation after receiving a cyber-tip about a possible sex crime involving a Redwood City juvenile from the San Jose Police Department s Internet Crimes Against Children unit, which monitors the illegal exchange of electronic images and activity involving children. ....
