New Delhi: Rajarshi Kalita, renowned Assamese writer Arupa Kalita Patangia s son, has succumbed to COVID-19 at the age of 41 in Delhi on Wednesday evening. He was under treatment at a private hospital. He is survived by his wife and a son.
He was a Professor at Shyam Lal College under Delhi University.
According to a health bulletin issued by the Delhi government, the capital recorded 20,960 new cases on Wednesday from 79,491 tests conducted in 24 hours.

Addressing the Union Health Ministry press conference, he said: Third phase is inevitable given the amount of virus circulating. But it is difficult to predict the timeline. We should prepare for the new (third) wave.

Ahmedabad- As India continues to face a massive spike in the cases of the novel coronavirus, there was an alarming breach in the COVID-19 protocol which was reported from Ahmedabad s Sanand city on Tuesday.
As per reports, women gathered in thousands to offer their prayers through ritualistic offering of water at the Baliyadev Temple in the Navapura village in Sanand, Ahmedabad.

London- As per reports, two members of the Indian delegation currently in London attending the G7 foreign ministers meet, may have tested positive for COVID-19.
Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar tweeted saying that he had been informed of two positive cases of COVID-19 within the Indian delegation. The Indian delegation will now attend all their meetings virtually.
