4 dead from heat in Spokane County, autopsies pending for 11 others

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. The number of heat-related deaths in Spokane County grew over the July 4th holiday amid a historic heat wave that slammed the Northwest, bringing record-breaking temperatures to Spokane and surrounding areas.
The medical examiner wrote on its website Tuesday afternoon that there are 15 deaths wherein circumstances suggest they may be heat-related, although autopsy results are not yet available to confirm. The medical examiner s office released this information after multiple media outlets requested information regarding deaths that may be heat-related. ....

SPOKANE, Wash. The City of Spokane said three people have died due to what is likely heat-related illness.
City spokesperson Brian Coddington confirmed Wednesday two people at the New Washington Apartments died one of them a man in his 70s and the other unknown. Residents told city employees both those people complained of heat-related symptoms the night before.
A woman in her 60s as well as her dog, were also found dead in their home in Northwest Spokane, which the City says was likely heat-related, too. ....
