It s easy for thus in the comfort of our homes why didn t you do something. not everybody can just do michigan. the storm tacked on to a little island the first thing to be hit and then up the mouth of the pearl river and was a mississippi storm, not a new orleans storm. it was the water rushing up the river, and coming over the levees that destroyed northerns. the wind and the water that leveled south mississippi, gone and parts are still gone. we ll look back and the lessons of hurricane katrina, tomorrow night, 10:00 eastern, there s no host of the show. the storm is the star and we ll all just sort of tell stories along the way. think it s a great look back from our specials unit. thank you for your great coverage and loving new orleans so much. i do. ....

To the west/southwest back over open walter. there is high pressure sitting over parts of minnesota. it was thought it would push its way on shore. it is having a tough time doing that. yes, more or less stalled out. the longer it sits there, the longer the rain will continue to pile up. i think that 20-inch mark, likely going to be reached in a lot of spots. all right, thank you to jim dickey, live again for us at accu-weather. far and wide, as he mentioned. rain could extend up to 1,200 miles. parts of the midwest as well. could go all the way up to the great lakes. a storm the size of the state of texas. that gives you any idea. not just a new orleans storm. folks in the middle of the country will feel effects from this, as well. good news, jim pointed out some of the rain will go to drought-stricken states. which is good news, certainly not for folks further south who are saturated. of course we will keep an eye on that throughout the morning. stay tuned for more hurricane co ....
Harm s way. several shelters taking in dogs and cats for people who needed to evacuate. meteorologist, jim dickey in the accu-weather forecast center. hi, jim, what s the very latest on isaac? isaac still a hurricane, unfortunately not moving very much. this is the radar imagery. see the center of the storm. it did make landfall. wobbled over open water. see just swirling in place. the rain band doing the same as another heavy rain band is in new orleans. a second about to push in. anywhere you see this rain, more or less, tropical storm force winds at this time. the worst of isaac will continue through the day. gusts, 90 miles an hour. storm surge, six to nine feet. southwestern louisiana. wind forcing the wind in out of the east. flooding rainfall. many spots will pick up in excess of a foot of rain by the time all is said and done. in new orleans, some spots not going to see this rain end for 24-plus hours going forward. we are going to watch this storm track its way farther nor ....
