Louisiana. Jason, it just gets worse and worse where you are there in houma, louisiana. You are just getting pounded right now. Whats the latest . Yeah, i just wanted to confirm something. We were talking about the Wind Gusts out here. Checked in with our Weather Department here. Just to confirm before i said it. Weve been experiencing Wind Gusts topping 100 miles per hour. Out there. Not right here where im standing because weve moved back next to a solid Brick Structure, jim. Just to give us a barrier from the brunt of what is happening out here. You can look out there and you can gauge for your own eyes what we have been experiencing as the Eye Wall descends upon houma. The wind literally takes your breath away as it howls through here, taking with it trees, power lines, damaging structures in the area as well. Weve been hearing from Emergency Officials who say thats what theyve been receiving so far in terms of their assessment of the damage. Hard to make it out because all of this

Surge and torrential rain all slamming louisiana 16 years to the Day Hurricane Katrina made landfall. More than 400,000 customers without power right now. That number expected to keep going up as ida makes its way inland. Ida is tied with Hurricane Laura as the strongest storm on record ever to hit louisiana. The Storms Strength no match for the Mississippi River, partially reversing its flow. Lets begin with Jason Carroll In Houma, louisiana. What can you tell us . Reporter jim, we have shifted position again to an area thats even closer to this brick building, because the conditions have deteriorated to a point where we just need to be more mindful of our safety. Thats where i was standing during the last live report we did with you just a few moments ago. You can see another tree as come down over there. Looking from that Vantage Point you get a real sense of just how strong the wind is. I could stand there ten minutes ago. Ten minutes later, no longer. If you look right out here, y

Grossman has been following Idas Path And Sam Brock is in louisiana preparing for the Storm Surge. How are things looking where you are And how are people preparing . Lindsey good morning, joe good morning. Its calm, theres a slight breeze. Were expecting rain to fall here early this afternoon And the winds to pick up as well. Lindsey, to your point about rapid intensification, that means 35 miles per hour or more increase in Wind Speeds over the course of 24 hours. 80 miles per hour to 145 miles per hour now is a 65 mile per Hour Increase over the time span which is roughly double the threshold for rapid intensification. The question right now, is ida going to run out of Real Estate before it actually reaches lAndfall or will we see another increase in Wind Speeds because at the moment 150 miles per hour is the record for the state of louisiana with hurricane laura, And as you mentioned back in the mid 1880s that is the historical precedent were up against right now. The track if it w
