Foot of snow could fall in Bucks County tonight

The snow may have gotten a late start, but by Wednesday evening was falling steadily throughout Bucks County. As flakes fell, closures began. Montgomery County closed offices at 2 p.m. Some schools, including Quakertown Community School District in Upper Bucks, called an early dismissal. Less snowfall is expected than initially anticipated, but a foot of snow still is expected in some parts of the county into Thursday morning.  Previous forecasts called for up to two feet of snow in Central and Upper Bucks, but late Wednesday morning, Trent Davis, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey, said Doylestown and north of it is likely looking at 8 to 12 inches of snow

(Doylestown Township Police Department) BUCKS COUNTY, PA A Nor easter hit Bucks County Wednesday, bringing snow and wind but sparing the region from crippling power outages. The storm was predicted to bring a foot or more of snow, but most towns got less than that, according to the latest snowfall totals from the National Weather Service. Several travel impacts were reported during the duration of the storm. Troopers from State Police Troop M, which includes Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton counties, reported 27 crashes and 154 disabled vehicles from 1 p.m. Wednesday through 9 a.m. Thursday.
