And in the hunt for a better october, it appears that this may be developing into an even bigger cataclysmic standoff, unless republicans give up their reckless approach to governing. In just over an hour, the president will host leaders of the house and senate it at the white house, where according to his advisers, the president will urge the hapless House Speaker to pass a clean bill to reopen government and raise the debt ceiling. In other words, do your job, pay the bills, grow up. The president will probably put it a bit more diplomatically, and well have fresh comments from him, straight ahead.
