led to what biden called a precision strike targeting the most wanted terrorist. we make it clear again tonight that no matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide, if you are a threat to our people, the united states will find you and take you out. zawahiri s death comes 11 years after the u.s. killed osama bin laden. at one point he was bin laden s personal physician. jasmine wright has more on biden s decision to take him out, and ben wedeman joining us with the details on the strike itself. let s start with the strike. it was months in the making. what more do we know about the operation itself? reporter: basically it was done by a drone that fired two hell fire missiles on to the balcony of the building that ayman al zawahiri and his family were living in in kabul, it happened at 6:18 a.m. local time in kabul. and this obviously, yes, as we ve heard time and time again, this was an operation long in the making. but what is interesting is that until now it is
trying to get more information about it. what can you tell us about this attack? anything more about the type of weapon that was used? and can you guarantee that no one was killed besides zawahiri? all good questions, brianna. so, look, this mission really took shape over the course of the last six, seven months. it was really sort of early this year as you heard the president say we got indications that mr. zawahiri had moved into afghanistan. so what we re able to do is stitch together some intelligence, based on the movements of his family, quite frankly, and then once we tracked them into kabul, we were able to then be able to track him and his efforts to reunite them. that led then to weeks if not several months, of making sure that we had the right guy, that this was, in fact, mr. zawahiri, and that this was in fact their residence and then, of course, developing a pattern of life. his habits, if and when he went outside, how often, on what days, for how long, all tha
moment in america since the fall of saigon. biden chose a path designed to inflict maximum damage the interests of the united states. he did that. this kind of know debating it. biden is not ashamed of it. he wasn t ashamed of identities not ashamed of it now. biden gave a speech boasting that he killed an al qaeda figure in afghanistan. feel safer? of course you don t. nobody does. the reason nobody feels safer is biden s response to the disaster in afghanistan. rocco then pause and learn from it, may be firing responsible. rather than do any of that, biden set off in another direction provoking another conflict, this one in eastern europe. he provoked it. they lie about it but it s true. the facts are out there and it s very obvious. so just days after the russian government announced yet again that if ukraine joined nato, if ukraine were to join nato, the russian army would invade ukraine. days after they said this for like the 50th time, kamala harris arrived at the u.n.
okay so there are big weeks and really big weeks and this week is as big as it comes. after weeks of revealing witness testimony, after weeks of intense cross-examination. after a legal system has been tried, tested in ways that it has never been before. we re now reaching the end of this trial. closing arguments start tomorrow. those seven men and five women will deliberate and decide the fate of the former president. we don t know what the outcome will be. only they decide that. that s how our system works. i know it all sounds surreal but it s all really happening, starting tomorrow morning. if one person appears to be feeling the heat right now, it is truly a surprise, he shouted at the judge, the district attorney. hours away from closing arguments, the judge is probably past wanting to derail the. or the jury may be dead locked, unable to reach a consensus and this could end in a mistrial. or the jury could convict trump as former director has predicted. that would make
president. we don t know what the outcome will be. only they decide that. that is how our system works, as it should. i know it sounds sur role. it is all really happening, starting tomorrow morning. and if one person appears to be feeling the heat right now, it is clearly trump himself. who, surprise, surprise, lashed out at the judge and the district attorney on the case as a whole over memorial day weekend. trump is pretty clearly testing the bounds ever his gag order because he knows at this point hours away from closing arguments, the judge is past the point of wanting to derail the trial and as the case enters the final phase, you could find any prediction for how it may end. the jury may find the prosecution did not make its case or be acquitted or deadlock and this could end in a mistrial. or the jury could convict trump as former fbi director james comey predicts. that would make trump the first former u.s. president to be convicted. by the end of the week, we may kn
