International Womens Day-2021 celebrated across Kashmir

Srinagar: In connection with International Womens Day, celebrated on 8th of March every year, a number of functions to commemorate this day were today held across all the districts of Kashmir division.
On the occasion, seminars, debates and other related programmes were organized besides women achievers were also felicitated by the respective district administrations.
At Srinagar, the District Level Centre for Women, Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Srinagar, in collaboration with Srinagar Smart City Limited today organised a function to celebrate International Womens Day at Government College for Women (GCW) Nawakadal, here.

DDC Kupwara finalizes arrangements for Water Week celebration

Addressing the meeting, the DDC asked the concerned engineers of Jal Shakti department to ensure proper arrangements during the ensuing NRDWS Week as per the Action Plan.
He asked them to specify the area of activities and directed them to nominate 02 blocks each in Handwara and Kupwara and one block in Tangdar sub division. He also directed them to ensure 100 water quality tests in the district during the week long programme.
Earlier, the DDC was briefed about the weeklong activities which include flag off of audio-visual vehicle from District Headquarter, District Jal Jeevan Mission meeting, Gram Sabha meetings and public rallies at block and village level. ....

NFCH organizes interactive meeting at Kupwara

Kupwara: The National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) in collaboration with District Administration, Kupwara today organized an impressive interactive function for students of militancy and communal victims.
The Secretary NFCH, Manoj Panth and District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara Imam Din presided over the function.
Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary NFCH said that the objective of the programme was to review the implementation of project ‘ASSIST’ under NFCH. He said under this flagship programme 1716 children rendered orphan or destitute in various communal, or terrorist violence in Kupwara district, have so far been covered for providing financial assistance to carry forward their education. ....

Agriculture Department Kupwara conducts Draw of Lots under SMAM

On the occasion, it was informed that 04 beneficiaries shall be provided the Hiring Centres one each from Trehgam, Handwara, Sogam and Tangdar agriculture sub divisions. Whileas, two Machinery Banks were also sanctioned one each for Treham and Handwara sub division. It was further informed that financial assistance of Rs.31 lakh shall be provided to the beneficiaries under the Centrally Sponsored Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that these innovative schemes have been introduced in the Agriculture Department to facilitate the farmer community for increasing their income. He said that District Administration is always on forefront to support the Agriculture and allied departments as the Agriculture is the backbone of the rural economy. ....
