In the weeks since taking their oath, they have been part of history, their first weeks included debating challenges to Electoral College votes, surviving an attack on the u. S. Capitol, and voting on impeaching the president of the United States. Before these events, we spoke to several new members about what brought them to congress and what Life Experiences have shaped them. I was determined to be a us marine how ever i got into medical school and when i went to read through the recruiting table the marine recruiter pointed me over to the navy table and said told me that id have to join the navy and you know the rest is history i didnt know at the time that i joined the navy that that there was a a huge number of people who successes the successes of whom in the segregated units fighting for freedoms that their families didnt enjoy they were the ones who opened the door for me and all americans to pursue careers that are much less incumbered if not unencumbered by prejudice and discrimination that they faced prior to during and even after world war ii.
