Well this building is iconic. Its where the laws are made. Its not uncommon for people to come here to make a statement. Usually those folks have a permit. That man came here. He had a gun. According to Capitol Police it was about 1 05 in the afternoon when the man walked up to the public area on the west front of the capitol and shot himself. No Law Enforcement officers fired during that shooting. We are told that he also had a suitcase and whats described as a roller rack with him. That led to fears that there may be a bomb.
