The drug developer signed a supply agreement with the U.S. and Canada for a potential COVID-19 treatment.

Chicken shortage sends prices upward

May 6, 2021 Chicken prices have more than doubled year to date, and wing prices have set new records on account of a shortage, according to Urner Barry, a market research firm, reported The Wall Street Journal. Boneless skinless chicken breast averaged around $1 a pound last year and is now trading at $2.04 a pound, according to the researcher, while prices for jumbo wings have risen to a record $2.92 a pound. United Natural Foods Inc., a supermarket distributor, has seen chicken prices increase on account of higher restaurant demand, according to Chris Testa, president. One factor is chicken sandwich price wars among fast food chains including Wendy s, McDonald s and Popeyes Louisiana Chicken. More chains, including Burger King, plan to introduce chicken sandwiches
