Our keynote speaker is a historian of television, radio and the Recording Industry in the united states, a former network and Cable Television executive, and the author of nine books. Tim brooks. His talk tonight is based on his newest publication, the blackface minstrel show in mass media 20th century performances on radio, records, film and television. Recently published by mcfarland. Among tims many accomplishments is a grammy award, which he received for a double cd and book titled lost sounds blacks and the birth of the Recording Industry 18901919. How much sunshine we need every day. First, ukraines Prime Minister is blaming police in the city of odessa for failing to stop fridays violence that left 40 dead. Three days of mourning have been declared across the country. He says the Security Forces were inefficient and broke the law. Odessas Regional Police chief has been fired and the state prosecutor has been told to start a full investigation of every Police Officer involved. More than 40 people were killed during riots in the city on friday. Most were prorussia activists killed after being trapped inside a burning building.
