Im the director of the Political Reform Program here at new america and all i want to do is welcome you to this discussion on race and solidarity in the United States and the future of solidarity as a way of thinking about thinking about race. This discussion was organized by ted johnson who has been a fellow in our National Fellows program and also a fellow in the Political Reform Program. His work on the complexity of black voting behavior and Political Attitudes has been eyeopening to me, and, you know, tremendously important. Hes now a fellow at the Brennan Center for justice which is an organization that as you can see, the signs here, its occasionally here.
