But after closing down for several days due to Christmastime rains, the Detroit Mountain Recreation Area reopened on Thursday, Dec. 28, and will be open through New Year’s Day.

“The 4-H food stand kitchen got the biggest upgrade,” said Fair Board member DeWayne Myhre. But the Fair Board also landed some grant funding for improvements to other buildings.
“We’re really lucky, our customers have been great,” said Erika Sailer, co-owner at Lakes Ace Hardware. “Between businesses and regular customers, it’s nice to be a part of the downtown community.”
Of the 32 awards won by the Tribune at this year’s MNA contest, 11 were first-place awards, 10 were second-place awards and 11 were third-place awards.
