MILLERSBURG  A pair of Pomerene Hospital nurses were honored with the DAISY Award, an honor bestowed upon nurses in an effort to thank them for the work they do.
The compassionate care provided by nurses Kristi Schrock and Natalie Kolp resulted in the award, of which recipients are nominated by patients. Schrock and Kolp provide best-in-class patient care as well as represent the highest level of professionalism and compassion as nurses every day, according to the patients review.
Schrock was nominated for the special work she did with a patient who came in for dilation and curettage (D&C), a procedure after the patient had a miscarriage. She commended Schrock for taking extra time to be with her and bring her out of a very dark place. ....
