Shawn Price January 30, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Another day of spectacular performances led Arkansas to a dominant victory in the Razorback Invitational this weekend at the Randal Tyson Track Center. A world-leading effort was generated in the 4×400 relay while collegiate-leading marks were established in the 400m and mile. Arkansas produced its third team win of the season, totaling 133 points to thwart the challenge from Georgia (93) and Oregon (92). USC (70) placed fourth while the rest of the field included Mississippi State (35), Colorado (27), Ole Miss (27), and Iowa State (10). “The team win is just kind of extra credit,” noted women’s head coach Lance Harter. “We don’t try to do any of the line-ups that we potential can. What’s really exciting is that we had some great breakthroughs individually.” ....
The line-up of schools competing this weekend at Randal Tyson Track Center normally would indicate a strong distance field along with an elite level distance medley relay. However, the women’s distance medley was canceled when the field became limited due to various circumstances. “The mile, 3k and 5k are going to be heavily matched between Ole Miss and ourselves,” said Arkansas women’s head coach Lance Harter. “Oregon’s distance women are dealing with covid and knocked a bunch of them out. Colorado is focusing on March 15 for NCAA cross country, so we’ll only see a couple of their athletes. ....
Shawn Price January 22, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks closed out the Wooo Pig Classic with a world-leading performance in the 4×400 relay in what may have been a preview of the NCAA Indoor final in March. It was one of many highlights in another team victory by Arkansas at the Randal Tyson Track Center. A tally of 129 points earned the team victory for the Razorbacks over Texas (72), LSU (64), Southern California (53), Kentucky (51), Oklahoma State (33) and Missouri (31). “We cap off a great day with the 4×400 and run 3:32 against a great field,” stated Arkansas women’s head coach Lance Harter. “USC, Texas and Kentucky are always greatly respected sprint powers. ....
Shawn Price January 16, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Displaying quality and depth in various events, the Razorbacks opened the 2021 campaign with a dominant victory in the Arkansas Invitational held Saturday inside Randal Tyson Track Center. Totaling 229 points, the Razorbacks topped a seven-team field which included Oklahoma (118), Arkansas State (61), and Harding (30). “No. 1 we’re super excited we got our opener out of the way and everybody is healthy,” noted Arkansas women’s head coach Lance Harter. “It’s a good, strong indicator that people took care of themselves during the holidays. “Next week we’ll see some great competition and we look forward to continuing to evolve and handle the challenges that are yet to come.” ....
The Razorbacks begin their 2021 indoor season on Saturday with the Arkansas Invitational, a scored meet among seven schools. The Razorbacks will host Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Harding, Oklahoma, UA-Pine Bluff and UA-Little Rock inside Randal Tyson Track Center. ....
