MUMBAI: All essential shops excluding medical stores will only be allowed to remain open from 8am to 12pm in areas like Powai, Bhandup, and Kanjurmarg from Monday.
The BMC’s S ward on Saturday issued a circular stating that all essential shops will remain closed after 12 noon and only medical stores will be allowed to remain open to prevent crowding and contain the spread of Covid-19.
“There is a lot of crowding at these shops throughout the day. There was a demand from the local corporators and MLAs, so we issued this circular. However all media stores will remain open round the clock. However they will be allowed to offer home delivery and online delivery will be allowed,” said Vibhas Achrekar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, S Ward.
