On Wednesday, the FDA approved the Narcan nasal spray, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, becoming an over-the-counter drug without a prescription.
"We give out hope every day,” Neighbor2Neighbor Executive Director Gregory Parr said. “We primarily help people get off drugs and into treatment programs over 500 people since we've been here for five years.”
Naloxone nasal spray, known by the brand name Narcan, is used to temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. The FDA might make it available over the counter this year.
