The Manatee River Rotary Club recently delivered some of the best adventure, history and just plain fun books to the Manatee County school as part of the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club’s Books for Kids program that supports a new state-approved reading program for students. Manatee River Rotary has helped Daughtrey for several years, sending volunteers there to read with students, but the pandemic kept them out this year. Club members also helped at Johnson Middle School, and this year are providing scholarships for three Southeast High students in the International Baccalaureate program at the school. ....
