According to experts, the white fungus infections don’t show visible symptoms like Black Fungus. They form acute effects on the lungs and other body parts. Many times, patients show Covid-19 like symptoms but their RT-PCR test results are negative. Their CT scan shows severe lung damage which is not due to Covid, but due to white fungus which can cause damage to organs. “People either develop this infection while recovering from Covid-19 infection or during Covid treatment. The commonality is that they are all diabetics,” said Dr Jayant Kelwade, endocrinologist of Alexis hospital, where his job is to keep the sugar level of admitted Covid-19 patients under control.

Consider setting up oxygen plant in city: High court to chief minister Uddhav Thackeray In view of alarming Covid-19 situation in the city and severe shortage of oxygen for patients, the Nagpur bench of Bombay high court on Monday requested chief minister Uddhav Thackeray to set up an oxygen production plant here urgently. “In our view, it wouldn’t be difficult for Maharashtra Government to take immediate action in this regard. We also request guardian minister Nitin Raut to look into this matter and coordinate with the CM. We hope and trust that some urgent decision will be taken in the matter and conveyed to this court,” a division bench comprising justices Zaka Haq and Amit Borkar said, before adjourning the hearing till Tuesday 2.30 pm.

Image used for representation purpose NAGPUR: Shivshankar Isampalli, 27, a dance teacher-turned-drug peddler from Hyderabad, was arrested near Panjari on Wardha road shortly after Saturday midnight for allegedly possessing more than 91kg marijuana, worth around Rs 14 lakh, in his car. He was heading to Delhi to deliver the narcotic consignment when intercepted. Spotting cops, Isampalli tried to flee, but was nabbed by naik constable Manoj Shahu of Beltarodi police station after a chase. Isampalli, a resident of Kukatpally, Hyderabad, was earning a monthly salary of Rs30,000 as a dance teacher at a reputed school in the city. It’s learnt that the art and students were central to the dance teacher’s life, until the lockdown left him bereft of his job.
