Kolkata, Feb 6 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J.P. Nadda on Saturday attacked West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for depriving about 70 lakhs farmers in the state from receiving the money under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
He said that because of the West Bengal CM s ego, the farmers of Bengal could not avail the benefits of the Central scheme.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J.P. Nadda on Saturday attacked West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for depriving about 70 lakhs farmers in the state from receiving the money under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
He said that because of the West Bengal CM s ego, the farmers of Bengal could not avail the benefits of the Central scheme. It is because of her ego. What she did was an injustice to the farmers. She did not allow the welfare programme. Now as the elections are approaching, about 25 lakh farmers have registered for the scheme on their own. And now realising the whole thing, she has also given her consent. There is no point crying over spilled milk, Nadda said while addressing a political programme -

NEW DELHI: A war has started between the BJP on one side and the Congress and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on the other. While the BJP has launched ‘Ek Mutti Chawal’ (a fistful of rice) campaign to woo the farmers protesting against the three agri laws, Congress has initiated Ek Mutthi Mitti Shaheedon Ke Naam (one fistful of soil in the name of martyrs) in support of the farmers movement and against the central government.
Meanwhile, the TMC has called the BJP’s campaign a “sham”.

Kolkata, Jan 09: Amid ongoing protests over the new farm laws, BJP president J P Nadda on Saturday launched a new campaign to woo the farmers of West Bengal and said the BJP government at the centre has increased the agricultural budget six-fold and the Minimum Support Price by 1.5 times.

Nadda, who launched the Krishak Suraksha Abhiyan and Ek Mutti Chawal (a fistful of rice) to woo farmers in the poll- bound state, said the Modi government has worked more for the farmers community than the previous governments at the centre.
