Heritage week ended on a lively note on the slopes of Mushera Mountain with favourable weather boosting the attendance. Storm Betty had swept away as large numbers convened from across the South West Region.
There was no official event yet scores of patrons enjoyed favourable conditions to undertake the annual Mushera Mountain climb on Christmas morning.
Thankfully, the previous few days of inclement weather decided to take a break for the popular climb and it allowed one of the largest crowds from recent years to undertake the venture as hardy Duhallow, Muskerry and friends from further afield hit the trail.
Traditionally, Aubane Social Club promoted the event and supported a number of charitable and worthy causes over the years. However, owing to Covid 19 guidelines, they weren t in a position to organise a climb this year yet numbers came out in force to maintain the Christmas Day tradition.
