Murfreesboro, TN - Murfreesboro Police Chief Michael Bowen was on WGNS Wednesday morning (4/3/2024) talking with local residents about reducing car break-ins. He noted that it's the fastest growing crime here at this time. Bowen also talked with persons asking about potholes, bushes blocking the view as motorists pull onto a major thoroughfare.

(MURFREESBORO) Shortly before 1:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon (5/19/2022) reports of a two-inch gas main being cut has units from Murfreesboro Fire Rescue on-the-scene. The incident occured on West Main Street and the area impacted covers Bridge Avenue to Overall Street.
Crews from ATMOS Engergy are working to get the leak stopped while the Murfreesboro Street Department has been evacuated. As of this time, no other evacuations have been called.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Street Department Crew Leader Carson Elders has been named STARS award recipient for March 2021 after demonstrating his concern for safety and sharing his expertise with other employees. Mayor Shane McFarland recognized Elder during the City Council meeting, Thursday, April 22, 2021.
