The numbers of those who are homeless is growing in Murfreesboro, along with the age of those who are homeless Feb 12, 2021 at 11:45 am by WGNS Homelessness continues to plague the streets of Rutherford County and the numbers of those who lack a place to call home are getting older. Ed Grimes with the Murfreesboro Rescue Mission told WGNS NEWS… U.S. Census numbers for Rutherford County show that 10.8% of our residents are 65-years of age or older. That causes concern for non-profits that work to help those who face homelessness because increased age equals increased needs for medical care.
