Vivo, a smartphone maker, has started production at its 169-acre land in Sector 24A off the Yamuna Expressway. The company aims to manufacture 6.5 crore smartphones in the first phase and increase production to 14.5 crore smartphones in the second phase with a workforce of 25,000. Vivo has invested Rs 3,955 crore in the project and received discounts on land and stamp duty. YEIDA officials have approved the layout plans of 91 industries, with eight companies already in production. The goal is to have 250 industrial units operational by December.
