recruiting center where a gunman opened fire yesterday killing four marines. good afternoon, i m maria medina. hi, everyone. i m frank mallicoat. and we are learning more about the marines killed in yesterday s shooting spree in chattanooga, tennessee. reporter karin caifa reports. i think this is somebody that wasn t on radar. reporter: local and federal investigators are trying to figure out why muhammad youssef abdulazeez went on a rampage thursday. police say he opened fire on a military recruitment office then a navy operational support center both hit within 30 minutes. in the end, four marines were killed, three others were injured. investigators are now looking to see if the shooter had any ties to terrorism. there s no indication at this point that anybody else was involved. obviously we re still at the beginning of this investigation. we ll explore any possibility and that includes whether or not anyone else was involved in this. reporter: those who knew a

circumstance for these individuals who have served our country with great valor, to be killed in this fashion. two women were led away from the suspect s house in handcuffs. we do not know the motive or any tight he might have had to terrorist organizations like isis. another big story we re following right now. an hour ago, the verdict in the colorado shooting trial was red. james holmes was found guilty of first-degree murder for the shooting deaths of 12 people in a movie theater at a denver suburb nearly three years ago. james holmes stood in the courtroom silently as the verdict was announced. there are an additional 165 other charges. but the murder charges are key. they could lead to the death penalty. the same jury will decide the sentence. james holmes defense attorney argued he was insane at the time of the shooting and unable to tell right from wrong. the jury rejected that claim. republican presidential candidate jeb bush made a visit to san francisco today
