Malaysia Airlines has responded with force to claims they breached a ban on flying passengers in from India. The Kuala Lumpur-based airline has lodged complaints to the police about allegations made in social media accounts. The allegations claimed the airline ignored a Malaysian Government ruling banning ex-India passengers.

“This is to ensure that the public is not confused by baseless allegations aimed at causing public unrest, ” he said.
Dr Wee explained that Malaysia Airlines does not fly in passengers from India, in line with a government directive in view of the Covid-19 situation in that country.

Muhammad Fahmi subsequently acknowledged that it was a cargo flight and thanked Dr Wee for investigating the matter.
In a statement earlier, Malaysia Airlines said that it had lodged a police report against two individuals for their erroneous claims on social media.

As a further precaution, the airline also did not allow any ground maintenance personnel in India to enter its aircraft, it said in a statement today.
