MTSU Police Chief Talks about His First Few Months on the Job

With just a few months on the job, new MTSU Police Chief Edwin “Ed” Kaup has been busy making the rounds, getting to know his officers, attending campus events and grabbing lunch at the Student Union when time allows so that students get to know his face.

Registration open for MTSU Police's free RAD self-defense course


MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Sgt. Jason Hurley is one of two campus officers certified to instruct next month’s Rape Aggression Defense Systems, or RAD, course.

MTSU officers complete annual, extended emergency vehicle safety training to better serve campus


MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Line-of-duty motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of injury, disability and fatality for police officers, which is why MTSU Police take annual Emergency Vehicle Operations Course training and recently finished the most recent course.
