Man trying to buy marijuana gets robbed at gunpoint

Murfreesboro Police were flagged down by a man who wanted to report a robbery, after attempting to purchase marijuana. The man told police after he dropped off his significant other and then drove down Reid Avenue. While on Reid Avenue he was approached by two men, one who walked up to his car and stood at his driver’s side door.
One of the two had a firearm in the waist of his pants. The victim told officers that he didn't think anything of the firearm, because "everyone carries a gun." . ....

Woman claims she was raped, after being forced to drive unknown man from Elam Road to East Main Street

In Murfreesboro, a 37-year-old woman told police that she was driving on Elam Road when she was attacked by an unknown assailant. A police report shows, "She stated that she was driving on Elam Road and when she stopped at a stop sign, a tall black male opened the passenger door to her Jeep and sat in the passenger seat." The woman went on to report that the man was armed with a knife that was allegedly used to threaten her.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office asks, "Do you recognize this couple?"

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is asking, “Do you recognize this couple?” The Sheriff's Office released a video (above) that shows a man removing a porch welcome sign from a home while the female driver waited in the car, said Sheriff’s Detective Kyle Norrod.
The sign was taken Sunday from a home on Lytle Creek Road, Norrod said. The RCSO reports they were riding in a 2000s model Mercury Grand Marquis.

$17,500 Fraud Case in Murfreesboro - Car Reported as Stolen after Fraudulent Purchase

Murfreesboro Police released a video captured on a home surveillance system in hopes of someone in the community being able to identify a person of interest in a fraud investigation. According to police, a buyer used a fraudulent certified check in the amount of $17,500 to purchase a gray 2018 Chrysler 300 on May 13, 2022.
Authorities say the seller took the certified check to the bank, where it was determined to be fraudulent due to the routing number. The sale was person to person and no ID . ....
