Top Story January 19, 2021 WASHINGTON: Attempting to break away from the two companies it had hired to investigate the Bhutto and Sharif families and many others, the National Accountability Bureau paid 1.5 million pounds and then again 1.5 million dollars under the settlement agreements; except that the latter amount was paid to a sham company and that too knowingly to cheat Broadsheet LLC. The judgment from the ‘Broadsheet vs NAB’ arbitration case shows that the NAB made two payments under the Settlement Agreement, totaling 1.5 million dollars to accounts which appear to have been controlled by Jerry James, by then the unauthorized person who had incorporated another Colorado company which he had also named “Broadsheet LLC”. NAB had also admitted that Farooq had been under NAB detention without even the registration of an FIR for seven months. However, no action was taken a ....

In 2000, when M/S Broadsheet LLC was hired to go after 200 target individuals, M/S International Assets Recovery (IAR) was contracted to look for the fortune of the Bhutto family that, NAB suspected, was stashed in different secret jurisdictions of the world. However, NAB broke with both the firms in 2003 without following due process of termination that resulted in efforts to pre-empt litigation through settlement agreements. While NAB entered into a settlement of $1.5 million for Broadsheet with aperson who wasn’t legally authorised to negotiate a truce, a separate $2.25 million was paid to IAR ....
