Ondo APC expels Ajasin’s daughter for alleged anti-party activities Peter Dada, Akure Published 4 June 2021 The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has expelled former governorship aspirants of the party, Mrs Jumoke Anifowose and Mr Nathaniel Adojutelegan for allegedly involving in anti-party activities. Anifowose and Adojutelegan had approached the court to challenge the candidacy of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the last governorship primary of the party held in 2019 and lost the legal battle at the Supreme Court. Anifowose is the daughter of a former governor of the state, Pa Adekunle Ajasin. Addressing journalists on the decision of the party, on Friday, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr Alex Kalejaiye said the action of the party on the duo was based on the report of the fact-finding committee set up by the party to look into the allegation. ....
Dayo Johnson Akure The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state has suspended the daughter of the former civilian governor in the state and the party’s governorship aspirant in the July 20 primary election., Mrs Jumoke Anifowose. Anifowose’s suspension was contained in a letter signed by 25 out of the 29 officers of the party at a meeting in Igboroko unit 1, Ward 2, Owo council area of the state. Leaders of the party said she was suspended for alleged “anti-party activities and for not making any contribution to the development of the party in the last four years The letter also stated that she has not been attending party meetings in the last four years. ....
By Ikechukwu Nnochiri The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, dismissed a suit that challenged the primary election that produced Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the last gubernatorial election in Ondo State. The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Iyang Ekwo, held that the legal action which was instituted by one Mrs Olajumoke Anifowose was statute-barred. Justice Ekwo held that the suit was brought outside the statutory 14 days period the law allowed for the commencement of a pre-election matter. The court noted that the cause of action in the suit, which was Akeredolu’s nomination by the APC, occurred on July 20, 2020. ....
