and texas tumble. an implosion goes awry at a historic sugar refinery. good morning. i m lynn berry. those stories and more are straight ahead. this is first look on msnbc. we begin this morning with an act of tee fines. the world s focus turned this morning to the korean peninsula where south korea refused to call off military exercises in the face of north korean threats. nbc s julie yoo has the latest from south korea. reporter: good morning lynn. the tensions were high on the korean peninsula today. the south korean military began its routine military exercises in the western border near north korea. for over an hour, the south korean military fired artillery to the yellow sea near the
you have a chance of seeing some snowflakes during the day today. here s a wider view. there s the ocean storm. last week about this time we thought this would be over the top of us, but that forecast, of course, changed and the storm went further off the coast. as far as our snowfall predictions for this event are going to be, possibility of three to six inches on cape cod, notice barely any of it gets back to boston and no snow whatsoever, the i-95 corridor. another cold morning that hasn t changed. the winds are still a little gusty out there. and so the windchills are in the teens in most locations. so it s another morning where you need to bundle up the kids and yourself. today s forecast, sunshine from new york southward, clouds in new england, some of the snow showers in boston. the only accumulating snow is out there on the cape. so overall, lynn, not too bad. thanks so much. i m lynn berry. this is first look on msnbc. stay with us, morning joe is coming up at 6:00 easte
